Jamshedpur: Jharkhand BJP leader Nandji Prasad has raised serious concerns over the persistent lack of clean water and sanitation in several urban areas of Jamshedpur, including Mango, Jugsalai, Baghbera and Parsudih.
“Even after 25 years of Jharkhand’s formation, the people here are struggling for clean water. Crores of rupees are siphoned off every year in the name of sanitation, yet filth and disease continue to plague the residents,” Prasad remarked, blaming both the district administration and civic authorities for corruption and neglect.
He further alleged that only 25% of the appointed sanitation workers are actually deployed, while the rest exist only on paper, leading to heaps of garbage and an inefficient waste management system. “Meanwhile, the administration continues to claim success in cleanliness drives and water supply schemes,” he added.
Prasad warned of an impending crisis, stating that water scarcity will soon be used as an excuse for further corruption in tanker rentals and repairs. He accused local authorities of undermining central government initiatives like the Swachh Bharat Mission and Har Ghar Jal Mission.
“If this corrupt administration continues, BJP workers will lead a mass movement to expose these misdeeds and fight for a permanent solution,” Prasad declared.
