Jamshedpur, August 5: RVS College of Engineering and Technology commenced a seven-day faculty development program today. The event featured a special discussion by Professor Dr. Simanta Kumar Samal from the Electrical Engineering Department of NIT, Jamshedpur, focusing on solar PV power processing.

Dr. Samal emphasized the environmental benefits of solar power, highlighting its growing significance in the renewable energy sector. He explained that photovoltaic (PV) technology, which converts sunlight directly into electricity, is rapidly advancing globally, including in India, and is poised to become a crucial technology of the 21st century. Dr. Samal also shared insights from his published research papers on the subject, elaborating on new technologies and research advancements in solar power.
The college principal, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, welcomed Dr. Samal with a bouquet, while Dean of Administration, Professor Krishna Murari, honoured him with a memento. The event was also attended by Dean of Academics Dr. Sharat Chandra Mahato and faculty members from various departments.
