Jamshedpur: Nuvoco�s Jojobera Cement Plant (JCP) organised the closing ceremony of Health Safety and Environment (HSE) Month 2019.� The theme for this year�s HSE Month �Engage and Organize Workplace through 5S� highlighted the importance of organised workplace so that work can be performed efficiently, effectively and safely.
This system focuses on putting everything where it belongs and keeping the workplace clean, which makes it easier for people to do their jobs without wasting time or risking injury. 5S is the workplace organisation method that uses a list of five Japanese words: Seiri (Sort), Seiton (Set In order), Seis? (Shine), Seiketsu (Standardize), and Shitsuke (Sustain).�
The programme was inaugurated by Vinit Kumar Singh, Factory Inspector, Manoj Agrawal, Senior Vice President, JCP, Amit Pediha, SVP Project, Vinay Dubey DGM HR, Jeetendra Kumar Jain, AVP Operation and Shrikant Singh, Head Safety along with senior officers, employees and family members were present on the occasion.
During the month a blood donation camp was organised by JCP team and supported by Indian Red Cross Society, Jamshedpur. The camp saw a collection of 226 units of blood.
Besides the blood donation camp, poster competition, quiz competition, awareness programme on 5S in plant and in schools for children, street play and various other safety awareness programmes were organized and prizes were distributed to the winners of the different competition.
In his address Manoj Agrawal, Senior Vice President, Jojobera Cement Plant said, �Health Safety and Environment is the core value at Nuvoco and there is no shortcut to it. This year�s HSE month theme was Engage and Organize Workplace through 5S and the objective was to reduce waste and increase efficiency, thereby reducing production costs while increasing productivity, safety, and employee satisfaction. All the activities conducted during the month focused on this aspect and we will strive to maintain 5S going forward as well.� Addressing the gathering, B A Kumar, Deputy Chief Factory Inspector also appreciated the efforts taken by Nuvoco in implementing 5S across the company.
