Jamshedpur, Oct 12: Spanish striker Sergio Castel‘s second half penalty helped Jamshedpur FC defeat Neroca FC 1-0 to register a win in a friendly match played at Flatlets in Kadma on Saturday evening. Both the teams were neck and neck in the first half and failed to score despite creating several chances.
The Manipur based side gave a tough fight to the hosts as the match headed towards the lemon break.
Jamshedpur FC started with the full strength squad with the likes of Tiri, Subrata, Mobashir, Noe Acosta, Sergio Castel, CK Vineeth taking the field.
Jamshedpur FC got a penalty in the second half which Castel successfully converted into a goal. Minutes later JFC’s Rafique Ali Sardar who replaced Subrata in the 56th minute, saved a penalty to avoid a scare. The save proved crucial as Jamshedpur FC beat Neroca FC 1-0. Crowds in large numbers were seen watching the encounter from the main road opposite the ground.
After the 70th minute of the match several JFC Reserve team players were given a chance. Billu replaced Jairu, Aakash Dave for Tiri, Shahjahan for Aniket. In the 78th minute March Starfield replaced Noe while Umesh came in for Castel in the 85th minute.
