Seraikela, Oct 8: In Krishnapur village under Seraikela police station, a family has been ordered to leave the village by the villagers accusing them of witchcraft.
The family including five children and wife has reached the Seraikela police station and appealed to the police for justice and lodged a written complaint against the villagers.
The victim Ramrai Hansda has said in the complaint before the police that the family consists of seven members.
“I support my family by working as a laborer. Apart from this, I have been cultivating on my ancestral land. On June 21, a meeting was held by the villagers accusing my wife of being a witch. And in the meeting I was issued a decree to leave the village. They started threatening to kill me along with my family if I did not leave the village,” the complaint states.
Ramrai has urged the police to provide justice and ensure the safety of his family. Seraikela police station in-charge Manohar Kumar has informed that a complaint has been received. Based on which the matter is being investigated.
