Seraikela, Oct 20: The Saraikela fire department launched a public awareness campaign on celebrating Dipawali in a safe manner. Fire Department In-charge of Saraikela, Rishi Kumar Tiwari led a team of departmental personnel on an awareness campaign organized at Garage Chowk and the Sadar Hospital Morh, instructing people on safety measures to be adopted during Dipawali celebrations.
People were asked to burst crackers at open places, away from crowds and traffic zones. “Do not set fire to or burst fire crackers inside the house or courtyard. The elderly people and animals are to be kept at safe and far distances from the scene of bursting of fire crackers. Parents should ensure that children adopt safety measures while bursting crackers. Wear cotton garments. Children should not be allowed to burst firecrackers as far as practicable and should be given glow sticks like tarabatti and phuljhari only.”
The fire department officer advised people to exercise all precautionary measures as even mild carelessness could result in serious accidents. “Follolw all safety guidelines issued by the government. In case of fire, please inform the nearest fire department without loss of time. Please cooperate with the department during rescue operations,” Rishi Kumar Tiwari urged.
Rishi said that services by the fire department were absolutely free. He said that there were two fire engines on alert mode 24×7. The other fire department personnel accompanying department in-charge Rishi Kumar Tiwari were fire brigade drivers Mansoor Ansari and Ram Vilas Bhagat.
