Seraikela: Dist colleagues reach out to ailing teacher RKS Munda

Seraikela, August 21: Raj Kishore Singh Munda, a secondary school teacher of 2019 batch and posted at Shatrughan Project Girls High School in Chandil block of Seraikela-Kharsawan district has been afflicted by paralysis since the past one year has been on medical leave with none to look after him. He had an elder brother who looked after him. But due to the latter’s sudden demise, Raj Kishore Singh Munda has been stranded and not being able to get proper medical attention due to which, his condition is deteriorating.

To add to teacher Munda’s misfortune, since he has been on medical leave, he has not being getting his salary. Conversing with Shatrughan Project Girls’ High School, Headmistress In-charge, Mamata Gope, it was learnt that as Raj Kishore Singh Munda, being on medical leave, his six months’ salary from July 19 to February 2020 had been put on hold by the DEO’s office.

All teachers of Saraikela-Kharsawan district have taken the initiative to reach out a helping hand to their paralysis-struck colleague Raj Kishore Singh Munda. District Secretary of Jharkhand State Secondary Teachers’ Association Narayan Kumar Informed that on learning about Munda’s condition, the Association decided to help their ailing colleague. Teachers of all levels had started fund collection among themselves to ensure that Raj Kishore Singh Munda could avail of prompt medical treatment. Rakesh Kumar, the provincial in-charge of +2 Teachers’ Union said that all +2 teachers had joined hands to help their colleague in physical and financial distress. He also assured all possible help from the +2 teachers. The teachers were simmering with anger and questioning why the DEO office had kept Munda’s salary of six months in abeyance. Narayan Kumar said that a delegation of the union would soon meet the DEO and submit a memorandum demanding the release of the withheld salary of Raj Kishore Singh Munda.
