Seraikela, July 22. The court of ADJ Kankan Pattadar, while hearing a case of murder in a fight, sentenced four accused in the case, Khetu Patro, Rajendra Bhonj alias Raju, Ranjit Patro and Shuru Tanti, to rigorous life imprisonment each.
The sentence was given under Section 302 of IPC, after finding the above four accused guilty of the case, along with rigorous life imprisonment, each of them has also been sentenced to a fine of Rs 10000. In default of payment of fine, each shall undergo further simple imprisonment for 6 months.
A case was registered under Rajnagar police station case number 26/2016 on the complaint of Pramila Barik, resident of Janatand Tola of Sitani village of Rajnagar. It was alleged that on May 4, 2016, his brother Abhiram Barik, a resident of Sini’s Ukri, had come. And the said people took Abhiram Barik out of the house and beat him up with sticks. And tied Abhiram’s hand with a rope and threw him on the road of the village.
Later, the Rajnagar police, who reached the information, untied Abhiram and took him to the Community Health Center Rajnagar for treatment where Abhiram Barik died during treatment.
