SER GM gets new responsibility

Jamshedpur : Under a fresh directive issued by the Railway Board, the outgoing General Manager of South Eastern Railway, Sanjay Kumar Mohanty has been given the new responsibility. He has been promoted and made a member of the Railway Operation and Business Development (O&BD), Railway Board where he has also given his charge from 1st May 2021.

Mohanty is similar to Ex Officio Secretary. In such a situation, Railway Board has given additional charge of South Eastern Railway to Vidya Bhushan, General Manager of East Coast Railway (ECOR). Vidya Bhushan will continue in this post until a new General Manager is selected in the South Eastern Railway. Sanjay Kumar Mohanty is an alumnus of Delhi School of Economics and is an officer of the Indian Railway Traffic Services (IRTS) batch. Sanjay has served in various posts of Indian Railways till now.

He has also served as the Divisional Railway Manager in the Principal Executive Director (Traffic Transportation) Railway Board, Senior Deputy General Manager cum Chief Vigilance Office at East Coast Railway, Khurda Road Division.

Presently he was serving as the General Manager of South Eastern Railway. Apart from this, Mohanty has also worked on the capacity development projects of the Mumbai, Nagpur, Jhansi and Konkan Railways where he is known for executing administrative work and innovation systems in the operation of trains. His contribution to the rail transport of the Indian Railways is notable.
