Jamshedpur, December 16: Jharkhand Archery Association hosts 31st NTPC Senior Indian Round, 44th Senior Recurve, and 20th Senior Compound National Archery Championship, supported by Archery Association of India, NTPC and Tata Steel in Gopal Maidan during December 16 to 20.
Total around 900 archers across the country will be showcasing their talent and spirit in this tournament.

The Championship was inaugurated today. Arjun Munda, President, Archery Association of India was the Chief Guest while Mukul Vinayak Choudhari, Chief Sports Tata Steel was the Guest of Honour.
Other guest included Krishna Ghatak, first Arjun Awardee in Archery, Padma Shri Purnima Mahato, Head Coach Tata Archery Academy and Dronacharya Awardee, Vibhuti Dhand Adesara, Head Sports- Events and Training Centre, Tata Steel and Hemant Gupta, Head Sports Academies and Adventure Programme, Tata Steel.

Moreover, there were many distinguished officials present during the inaugural ceremony from the field of archery. The inauguration ceremony also included a cultural performance (Chhau dance performance).

Qualification round for Compound (Men and Women) event was held today. Qualification round for the Recurve and Indian round will be done tomorrow.
