Jamshedpur, August 22: Senior Congress leader CP Singh passed away on Sunday while undergoing treatment at Tata Motors Hospital. He had been ailing since a long time and breathed his last at the Hospital on Sunday, August 22. His final rites will be performed at Parvati Ghat in Bistupur on Monday, August 23. His body will be taken to the Congress district headquarter in Bistupur Tilak Pustakalay at 10 am where it will be wrapped in the party flag and Congress leaders will pay their last respect. The veteran Congress leader left behind four sons and four daughters.
His second son, Sanjay Singh Azad is the senior vice-president of the District Congress Committee. CP Singh was the head of Kitadih Gram Panchayat for a long time. He was also the Vice Chairman of the Panchayat Parishad of Singhbhum district. He was joint secretary in the Telco Workers Union headed by charismatic labor leader Gopeshwar Babu. CP Singh was an eminent leader of the District Congress Committee and was known as the man who launched PCC road construction.
