Jamshedpur: The selection competition for new trainers for Khel Academy Ranchi was held at panchayat level was held under the aegis of East Singhbhum district administration and the department of Tourism, Art, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs, Jharkhand on Friday.
Leaving aside Dhalbhum, Dumaria and Jamshedpur, the contest was held at eight blocks of East Singhbhum district. The remaining blocks will host panchayat level selection competition on February 11. At the contest 15 boys and 15 girls from every panchayat between the age group of 8 to 12 years representing any school and urban area residents can attend the selection procedure from the nearest panchayat.
In the second stage those selected in the panchayat level will have to undergo physical fitness Test Battery, a set of nine physical fitness tests covering flexibility, speed, endurance and strength at the venue selected by the block headquarters. In the block level total of 60 children (30 boys and 30 girls) will be selected for the third round of selection procedure.
The first and second round will be held under the supervision of block development officer and panchayat secretary. The second round of selection procedure will be held from 12 to 18 February while the district level election competition will be held on March 9 at Sumant Moolgaonkar Stadium. At the competition students of class 3 to 7 can participate.
