Security tightened for Dumka re-polling

Ranchi: Security arrangements are being beefed up at the two polling booths in Shikaripara block of Dumka Lok Sabha constituency for the re-polling tomorrow.

The Election Commission re-polling at booth number 100 and booth number 101 after the recent Naxalite attack in Shikaripara.

Naxalites killed eight persons including five police jawans and three polling officers on their return trip from the election booth number 100 and 101 on 24th April last at the conclusion of the last phase of Lok Sabha election in the state.

A landmine explosion led to the killings near a bridge. Naxalites also opened fire on the victims after blowing up two vehicles carrying the cops and election duty officials.
