Jamshedpur, Aug 10: Unprecedented security arrangements are being made at the Jamshedpur civil court premises after the recent attack on a judge at Dhanbad. As per the plans from now onwards entry into Jamshedpur Court will not be easy. People will have to go through strict security checks.
Jamshedpur SSP Dr M Tamil Vanan and CCR DSP Animesh Kumar Gupta inspected the Jamshedpur Civil Court and Bar Association building on Tuesday and took stock of the security arrangements. The SSP directed the policemen posted in the court premises to be strict in their duties.
The SSP also inquired about the number of cameras installed and the need for fresh cameras. The security personnel deployed at the entrance were informed about the security protocols.
The SSP ordered the policemen to thoroughly search any person before entering the court premises. “If any suspicious person is seen in the court premises, we need to take him separately and interrogate him. His identity card must be checked,” said Vanan.
The SSP ordered the officers to check the vehicles parked in the parking lot of the court complex. The personnel were instructed not to let anyone inside without checking at the entrance. Significantly, transporter Upendra Singh was shot dead on 30 November 2016 in the Bar Association building of Jamshedpur court complex. Earlier, during the production of gangster Akhilesh Singh, he was attacked; incidentally the bullet did not hit him.
“We have also demanded for a trained policeman at the security duty, electronic gates at all the entrances, CCTV cameras at all the floors of the two bar buildings and effective frisking of clients and their men at the gates,” said a lawyer.
Though there are CCTV cameras installed at all the four entrances of the three-storeyed Civil Court complex, there is no such surveillance camera at the two bar buildings where over 2,000 practicing lawyers sit for providing legal assistance and consultation.
