Ranchi: Three police officers, including ASI Abu Zafar from Chaibasa district, Havildar Chhotalal Tudu of IRB 10, and Constable Ranjan Kumar, have been suspended following a security lapse during Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Ranchi. The incident occurred when chaos erupted among security personnel tasked with safeguarding PM Modi during his journey to Birsa Memorial on Wednesday morning.
On Radium Road, near the SSP residence, a woman unexpectedly positioned herself in front of PM Modi’s car, causing a temporary halt to the convoy. The disruption prompted an on-site commotion, but swift action from security personnel resulted in the removal of the woman, allowing the Prime Minister’s convoy to proceed.
In response to the security breach, the suspension of the three policemen has been enacted as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. The lapse has raised concerns about the effectiveness of security measures during high-profile visits, prompting a review of protocols to ensure the safety of dignitaries.
