Security guard posted in under-construction mall in Jamshedpur murdered

Jamshedpur: Dead body of a 45-year-old security guard was found lying in a pool of blood at the basement of an under-construction mall in Bistupur on Wednesday morning. The victim was identified as Jaiprakash Singh, a resident of Road No 32 in Adityapur. He was missing since Sunday. His wife Abhilasha Singh had lodged a missing person report with the Bistupur police station on Monday.

Deputy superintendent of police (Composite Control Room) Arvind Kumar visited the spot said that they are investigating the incident. They will find out whether the deceased security guard was alone on duty or there were more guards in the under-construction mall.

On Wednesday morning, Jaiprakash’s body was found lying in a pool of blood at the basement of the under-construction mall. The mall belongs to Tata Steel Utilities and Infrastructure Services Limited which was earlier called Jusco.  

The victim had a grievous head injury which is considered to be the cause of death. His condition revealed that he was brutally assaulted.    

A police party led by OC, Bistupur thana, Upendra Mandal visited the spot. The mall is located beside the P&MHi-Tech City Centre Mall on Outer Circle Road in Bistupur.

“We have started the investigation. It is too early to comment but prima facie it appears to be a case of murder.  We have sent the body to the MGM Medical College mortuary for post-mortem.  Following an autopsy report the matter will get further clear,” said Mandal. “The security guard has serious injuries at head and the jaw.  This is why we suspect it to be a case of murder. We are also looking after other options too,” said the OC .
