Chaibasa: In the ongoing joint operation against the banned Naxalite organization CPI Maoist in the Kolhan reserved forest area of Jharkhand’s Tonto and Goilkera regions, district police and security forces thwarted a potential threat by discovering and neutralizing three Improvised Explosive Device (IED) bombs.
The recovery of these three IED bombs, each weighing five kilograms, was made near Chidiyabeda and Patatorb of Tonto police station area, where Naxalites had targeted Mufassil and Naxalites in an attack on Saturday.
Following the recent IED blast on Friday, which resulted in injuries to three CRPF soldiers, including one fatality (Santosh Oraon), CRPF officer Ejeto Tine and jawan Jayanta Nath sustained serious injuries. Both were admitted for treatment, with Jayanta Nath referred to Delhi AIIMS on Saturday for advanced medical care.
Superintendent of Police Ashutosh Shekhar provided information on the recovery of the IED bombs, emphasizing the immediate destruction of the devices on-site with the assistance of the bomb disposal squad for security reasons.
