Security breach in Dhanbad Jail: Guns and drugs infiltrate despite security measures

Dhanbad: Following the recent murder of shooter Aman Singh within the confines of Dhanbad jail, serious concerns have been raised about the efficacy of the prison system. The central question revolves around the security lapses that allowed two pistols to reach the jail. The Jharkhand High Court has taken a stern stance on this matter, prompting intensified investigations. Sunder, also known as Rohit, the assailant responsible for Aman Singh’s murder, has been taken into custody for questioning, with senior police officers actively participating in the interrogation.

Sources indicate that an underground network exists, enabling the smuggling of money and goods into the jail, facilitated by corrupt practices and collusion. It is alleged that individuals at various levels, from the constable at the main gate to chamberlain and senior officials within the jail, partake in this illicit trade for a share of the proceeds. This network has been reportedly responsible for the introduction of prohibited items, including mobile phones and ganja, into the jail.

In light of the Aman Singh murder case, it appears that the criminals exploited this established trend and managed to introduce pistols into the jail premises. The ongoing police investigation is working to confirm whether firearms were brought into the jail using the same channels used for ganja and mobile phones.

Sunder Mahato, also known as Ritesh Yadav, a resident of Pratapgarh, UP, was assigned the task of shooting Aman Singh in jail. Other members of the criminal gang were entrusted with handling the pistol’s transportation into the jail, disposing of the weapon after the murder, and managing the aftermath. Police suspect the involvement of individuals like Vikas Bajrangi, Satish Sao, Amar Ravani, and others in orchestrating these events.
