Security beefed up at Jubilee Park

Jamshedpur, Dec. 7: With the mercury dipping it�s a chance for family and friends to get together and spend the whole day amidst nature.

Winter season arrives with many memories and holds a special place in the heart, especially in a city where the rest of the months are simmering under the blazing sun.

Notably, the Jubilee Park is a public place where a large number of people, including tourists and picnickers visit on New Year.

Keeping the assembly of large number of visitors on the occasion of New Year, the district police authorities have decided to keep the park an incident-free by making special security arrangement.

After setting up new traffic regulations, security has been enhanced at city�s landmark Jubilee Park. Moreover, new drop-gates and new parking spots have started functioning from today.

A senior official of civic amenities provider Jusco said that two drop gates have been installed at both ends of the road with along with static security personnel.

For the convenience of visitors free parking slots have been made near Tata Steel zoo and near Smriti Udyan.

Anybody can park their vehicles at these parking slots and have to walk on the road to their desired place.

As per the decisions taken there will be no vehicle movement inside the iconic Jubilee Park on Sundays for convenience of visitors inside the park.

Moreover, both the entry/ exit gates of the park will closed by 9.00 pm (Monday to Saturday) and no vehicular/ public movement will be allowed 8.00 pm onwards inside the park.

No vehicles will also be allowed on the road passing through JN Tata Statue, Mughal Gardens, Children Park and Nicco Amusement Park at any time.

�There has been spurt in criminal activities in the city. We have to make sure that the yearend celebrations in the city are peaceful and we are taking every step in this regard.

For the next one month arms checking will continue without any break while, those driving vehicles in drunken state would be booked without much queries and police are going to get tough with hood-lumps, this time,” said a police official.

�We have also created two alleys near the drop gates on both ends so that visitors can walk into the park with ease. Beautification work is also being carried out,� said the official.

With cases of young couples and miscreants entering and escaping on bikes through the slip road from the Marine Drive end, Jusco has erected nearly four-foot high iron structures with cement grouting.

Security has been enhanced and has been jumped four times at any particular time of day by Jusco inside the park.

The existing road which links Sakchi with Circuit House, Northern Town and Sonari witnesses nearly 20,000 vehicles commuting to and from inside the park daily.
