Ranchi: Election campaigning in the state intensified on Saturday for the second and third phase of polling on 17th April and 24th April respectively.
In the second phase, polling will take place in Giridih, Jamshedpur, Singhbhum, Khunti, Ranchi and Hazaribagh.
The third phase polling will take place in Rajmahal, Dumka, Godda and Dhanbad. While the second phase election campaigning is at its peak, the third phase campaigning has also started.
Giridih, Khunti and Singhbhum Lok Sabha constituencies are Naxalite-hit. A deployment of 70,000 police personnel will be made in these constituencies to keep peace during election.
Helicopter of the Army will also be used for the purpose, sources said.
