SDSM students get fire fighting lessons

Jamshedpur, Jan. 19: Fire Extinguisher Training involving students and fire fighters was conducted at S.D.S.M. School for Excellence on 19th January to create awareness among the student�s community of fire fighting techniques and the way to respond within time of such emergency situations.

A team of fire fighters, headed by Fire Station Officer of Jamshedpur, Gopal Yadav armed with necessary items required for fire fighting and rescue operations positioned themselves at different points to guide the students.

The Officer gave a Lecture on Extinguishing Fire through Fire Extinguisher and different branches of Nozzles, Water Display, Do�s and Don’ts during fire for the school students.

The fire fighters explained and demonstrated different improvised methods being followed by them to rescue and evacuate people caught in such emergency situations besides explaining the ways to operate the fire extinguishers safety.

Nearly 2000 students along with teachers and staff briefed up by Principal. A Career counseling session for the students of Std. IX was organised in the school auditorium with an objective to provide proper guidance. They were engaged in an exercise of exploring the merging career awareness in future.
