SDO urges for corporate support during Durga idols immersion in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Oct 19: With Durga Puja round the corner, East Singhbhum administration is leaving no stone unturned to ensure safety of the citizens specially during the pandemic times. Keeping in mind the immersion procession of Durga idols scheduled for October 26, Dhalbhum Subdivisional Officer Nitish Kumar Singh presided over a meeting with corporate officials at SDO office in District Collectorate premises on Monday. Seeking support from the corporates, SDO informed about the state government’s guidelines. He said there would be no lighting, fetes, programmes or any other form of activity to avoid mass participation. There would be no procession during the immersion of idols. Immersion would be allowed only at the places advised by the administration. “At the immersion ghats the district administration is deputing manpower for the support of Durga Puja committees,” said SDO. The meeting focused on the support the corporates can extend for smooth idol immersion procession be it providing extra manpower for the additional idol immersions which could take place apart from preparations made by the district administration. Also present at the meet were Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee special officer, executive officer of Mango Municipal Corporation along with representatives of TSUISL, Nuvoco, Tata Motors and Tata Power.�����
