Saraikela, Nov 13: SDO Saraikela Ram Krishna Kumar who is also the Secretary of Rajkiya Chhau Nritya Kala Kendra of Saraikela was a special invitee to the ongoing training session of Chhau dance and music at the Institute. The programme under the aegis of ‘Sankalp – Ek Nayi Srijan’ is being conducted under the expert guidance of the Kendra’s Director Guru Tapan Kumar Pattanaik.
Inaugurating the day’s proceedings, SDO Ram Krishna Kumar inspired the artistes present and observed, “The pledge you have taken to preserve and propagate this cultural traditional format of Chhau dance and music should be dedicatedly maintained.”
Guru Tapan Kumar Pattanaik, while giving an elaborate talk on Chhau Shaili urged the students to rigidly adhere to the pledge they had taken. Trainee Riya Das’ Odissi dance recital on the occasion captivated the audience present. Later, Director Tapan Kumar Pattanaik honoured SDO Ram Krishna Kumar with a Chhau memento. Among those present in the programme were senior instructor Vijay Kumar Sahu, Gopal Pattanaik, Dildar Ansari, Asit Pattanaik, Pradip Kavi, other artistes and Chhau dance and music lovers.
