School van operators agree to follow road safety norms

Jamshedpur: Members of a city school van operators� union on Monday unanimously passed a resolution to follow road safety norms. They said the seating capacity fixed for vans and auto-rickshaws should be strictly followed by all operators.

Presiding over the meeting held at the Ganesh Puja ground, the union president Santosh Mandal said none of the committee members will call or join strike without permission. All school vehicles will use safety nets compulsorily. All members of the union will be given first aid kits. Efforts would be made to enter an arrangement acceptable to both van operators as well as the district administration.

Among those present at the meeting included Vishwajeet Khatwa, Mayank Khalkho, Satish Kumar, Suresh, Kailash Rajak, Akshay Jha, Raju Srivastava and Avdhesh Singh.
