School van crashes into wall in Jamshedpur, children injured

 

Jamshedpur, Sept 10: A major road accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon near Station Road under Burmamines police station limits when a school van carrying children lost control and rammed into a wall.

The accident took place while the van was on its way to drop students home after school. Eyewitnesses said the vehicle was moving at high speed when the driver suddenly lost control. The impact left the front portion of the van badly damaged.

Around 12 children from different schools were travelling in the van. Several of them sustained injuries, and some even fainted due to the shock. Panic spread as the children cried out in fear. Local residents and passersby rushed to the spot to rescue them and immediately alerted the police and ambulance services.

Police personnel and an emergency medical team arrived quickly and shifted the injured children to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials said a preliminary probe suggested that the driver lost control because of speeding. The incident left parents and residents deeply concerned about student safety.
