School of Analytical Chemistry at CSIR-NML, focus on R&D

Jamshedpur : CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory (NML), Jamshedpur is organising an eight-day programme on the �School of Analytical Chemistry� in association with Association of Environmental Analytical chemistry� AEACI starting today. The event is jointly organised by analytical chemistry Division, CSIR-NML and analytical chemistry Division, BARC, Mumbai.

The primary objective of this event is to share the information about the latest update in analytical chemistry and to provide a platform for sharing the subject knowledge amongst the research scholar
B.N. Jagatap, Director Chemistry Group, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre Mumbai, told, “about the importance of sharing knowledge among the young research scholar”. While addressing the gatherings, Dr. A.V.R. Reddy, Head, Analytical chemistry division, BARC, Mumbai, explained about the theme and scope of the event on analytical chemistry.

Dr. T. Mukerjee, Former Director & President, Association of Environmental analytical chemistry (AEACI) expressed their view about the importance of safety in chemical laboratory which is very helpful for all participants. He also explained about the problem and challenges faced during the proper handling of the chemicals in the R&D laboratories. He also shared some incidents occurred during the process and suggested to have a depth of knowledge available in the Internet before handling any dangerous chemical.

The Chief Guest of the function, Dr. S. Srikanth, Director CSIR-NML said in his inaugural speech, we should have to revive our scientific contribution made by several scientists, like � Raman, Bhatnagar, Bhabha, etc. during 1960s. This event will contribute and nurture the younger manpower in the area of analytical chemistry.

He appreciated the effort of organizer for conducting this type of platform for research scholar, academician and chemists. A good number of scientists from BARC and CSIR-NML are going to be delivers lecture during the eight day programme. Dr. A.K. Upadhyay proposed vote of thanks.

Dr. Santanu Bhattacharjee, Dr. J.K.Sircar, Dr. A.K. Upadhyay and other scientist of Analytical chemistry Division CSIR-NML, are putting their best effort for making this event successful.
