Jamshedpur, Dec 12: The Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has raised serious concerns about the on-going problems in Jugsalai, urging the District Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal to address these issues promptly. The plea was voiced by Honorary General Secretary Manav Kedia on behalf of the Chamber.
President Vijay Anand Moonka emphasized that Jugsalai, a densely populated area and a major business hub of Jamshedpur, faces several challenges that are impacting both local residents and visitors. “Despite being a bustling center, Jugsalai is plagued with multiple issues, from encroachments to traffic congestion, which makes life difficult for those living and working here,” Moonka stated.
One of the critical concerns raised by the Chamber was the encroachment on Jugsalai’s Gwalapada Road, where cows, buffaloes, and goats are being tied permanently, causing significant traffic blockages. “Six years ago, the area was cleared of these encroachments, but unfortunately, the situation has reverted to what it was before,” Moonka added.
Another pressing issue highlighted was the lack of a fire brigade station in Jugsalai. The absence of a local fire station creates a major risk for the area, as fire trucks have to be dispatched from the Golmuri fire station, which is located a considerable distance away. “In the event of a fire, it takes valuable time for the fire brigade to reach Jugsalai, making it difficult to control the blaze in time, leading to extensive damage and loss of life and property,” said Moonka. He requested the Deputy Commissioner to select a suitable site within Jugsalai to establish a fire brigade station.
Vice President Abhishek Agarwal Goldy and Secretary Suresh Sharma Lipu pointed out that Jugsalai lacks adequate parking facilities, despite its large size and commercial importance. “A designated parking space should be created in the area, and arrangements for its management should be made by the Jugsalai Municipal Corporation,” they suggested.
Additionally, Vice President Anil Modi and Secretary Bharat Makani highlighted the absence of a Sulabh toilet facility in the area. “There are many women employees working in local businesses, and customers, especially women, face immense difficulty due to the lack of public toilets. A Sulabh toilet is urgently needed,” they noted.
Other office bearers, including Vice President Advocate Rajiv Agarwal, Puneet Kanwatiya, Secretary Anshul Ringasia, Binod Sharma, and Treasurer CA Anil Ringasia, also echoed the need for swift action. They urged the Deputy Commissioner to take immediate steps to address these issues to improve the living and working conditions in Jugsalai.
The Chamber hopes that the Deputy Commissioner will take the necessary steps to resolve these problems and provide relief to the people of Jugsalai.
