SCCI urge State Urban Development Authority to increase FAR

Jamshedpur, July 16:Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry has requested State Urban Development Authority (SUDA) to increase the Floor Area Ratio (FAR) in Jamshedpur as per the system being adopted in many other cities across the country and to eliminate the compulsion to keep open space.

President of SCCI Vijay Anand Moonka informed  that floor area ratio (FAR) in most of the mini-metro cities of the country is higher than that of the state of Jharkhand and there is no compulsion to keep open space there. Whereas in Jamshedpur where the population is very high, while constructing a house, F.A.R. it is necessary to keep 50 percent of the open space.

They have urged the director SUDA to increase the area from three and remove the limit of keeping 50 percent open space to zero and said that this rule will prove to improve the standard of living of the people living here.
