Jamshedpur, March 10: The Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry has, in a letter to Jharkhand’s Director General of Police, Ajay Kumar Singh, expressed grave concerns on the escalating incidents of theft within the Adityapur Electronic Manufacturing Cluster area. The Chamber’s letter urged swift action to apprehend the perpetrators of these crimes and bolster police patrolling in the vicinity.
Copies of the letter were also dispatched to Chief Minister Champai Soren, Chief Secretary L. Khyangte, Zonal IG Akhilesh Jha, I.G. (Operation) Amol V. Homkar, and DIG of Kolhan Division Manoj Ratan Chothe.
President Vijay Anand Moonka and Honorary General Secretary Manav Kedia jointly underlined the Chamber’s current efforts to address the recurrent thefts plaguing the industrial area. Moonka lamented the adverse impact on businesses, particularly MSMEs, which were bearing economic losses and grappling with disruptions to their operations.
In addition to thefts, instances of snatching and molestation had also been reported, exacerbating concerns for the safety of women workers in the area. Moonka emphasized the urgent need for enhanced security measures, including round-the-clock police patrolling and the installation of surveillance towers, to restore peace and safety in the industrial hub.
