Jamshedpur, May 31: Without colours life would have been bland. Nature very understandingly has splashed colours on her magnanimous canvas that continue to inspire persons of the written words, philosophers, photographers and painters to express their minds and attract national and international attention.
Already being hailed as the Rural Leonardo da Vinci in the making, 18 year old Saurabh Pramanik of Chainpur village in Chandil Block is collecting accolades with his paintings on national and international art galleries.
Hailing from a middle class family, Saurabh’s parents, Kiriti and Saraswati Pramanik have been the major support to his medium of expression with the brush on canvas. They said, “Since his early childhood, he used to draw figures and make sketches of what he saw around him. We found that he was fond of drawing and we egged him on.” And the results are not only beginning to show but also drawing applause from connoisseurs, art critics and art lovers across national borders.
To further bolster his talent for creative painting, he completed his Diploma in Fine Arts course from Jamshedpur’s famed Tagore School of Arts in Sakchi. The confidence grew and he started participating in various painting competitions and awards and recognitions started flooding the showcases at his Chainpur village home.
His journey to international acclaim commenced with the top award in the International Art Contest – 2020 organized by Shilpayan. On the national level, he was awarded the Golden Certificate in the S – Art organized online art competition. While participating as a student of the Upgraded Chainpur High School in the state level art competition organized by the Jharkhand government’s Department of Tourism, Art, Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs, Saurabh made a podium finish by bagging the top award. That was in 2019. Earlier, he landed at the top in the 2016-’17 district level painting competition organized by the Education Department.
His keen observation of little things and events and translating it on canvas made Saurabh Pramanik a distinct gem for the future. This promising da Vinci has treaded through the streets and pathways of nature’s colours to capture them through the language he knows best – the alphabets of the paint brush on the pages of his varied, attractive and awe-inspiring canvas. His compulsive potentials started emerging as he won first prizes in all school and inter-school competitions he participated in.
Saurabh’s young mind speaks a language much advanced for his years. His thoughts on the prevailing COVID situation, the lockdown phases and the ways to remain safe and healthy have elicited critical applause at national seminars. No doubt that he was the recipient of the COVID-19 Corona Warrior National Award bestowed on him by the Bharatiya Kalakaar Sangh.
Currently the upcoming genius with the brush is engaged in translating his concepts on awareness for the prevention of COVID infection. Saurabh stated, “I am doing my own humble bit to spread awareness of COVID prevention and organized lifestyle. I just want people to be safe and keep everyone else safe.”
