Ranchi, May 9: The Election Commission has designated the gas cylinder as the symbol for Saryu Roy’s party, Bharatiya Jantantra Morcha (BJM). Dharmendra Tiwari, the party’s candidate, will contest the Ranchi Lok Sabha seat under this symbol, positioned at the fifth position on the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM).
Expressing his views, Tiwari criticized the central government’s approach towards agricultural development, alleging that instead of focusing on enhancing infrastructure in the agricultural sector, farmers were being misled with an annual compensation of Rs 6000 under the Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. He stressed the necessity of educating farmers about crop diversification and equipping them with training and marketing skills to ensure better returns on their produce.
During his outreach efforts, Tiwari highlighted the plight of farmers across the nation, pointing to the escalating instances of suicides and mounting debts. He lamented the lack of clarity regarding subsidies and called for a dedicated team to provide comprehensive information to farmers, emphasizing the inadequacy of newspaper advertisements in this regard.
Tiwari underscored the urgency of integrating the agricultural sector with employment opportunities and advocated for improved logistical support for farmers, including transportation facilities for seeds, plants, and crops. He advocated for substantial loans for cultivating cash crops to facilitate profitable farming practices in Jharkhand and beyond.
Earlier today, Tiwari engaged in public relations activities in various locations including Gadigaon, Chutiya, Tatisilwe, and Bedwadi, amplifying BJM’s electoral outreach efforts ahead of the upcoming elections.
