Jamshedpur, October 26: NDA candidate from Jamshedpur West, Saryu Roy, announced on Saturday that if elected, he would urge the Municipal Corporation to redirect drainage water from the upper areas near Deshbandhu Line. Roy stated that if the Municipal Corporation failed to act, he would personally ensure the construction of a wall in the drain to prevent water from flowing into the area. During a discussion with residents of Deshbandhu Line, Roy acknowledged the long-standing issues of waterlogging and unsanitary conditions. He reminded them that he had previously proposed a solution as an MLA, which was not implemented, and assured that stopping the water flow from Azadnagar remained the only viable solution. He had even provided a plan to municipal officers for diverting the drainage water, but action was not taken.
