Saryu Roy tenders memorandum to CM Hemant Soren, accuses Health Department and Banna Gupta of scam

Jamshedpur, July 31: Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy has accused the Health Department and Health Minister Banna Gupta of involvement in a serious scam. On Wednesday, Roy submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister Hemant Soren in Ranchi, demanding action.

In his memorandum, Roy called for the cancellation of the empanelment of outsourcing agencies responsible for supplying selected manpower, as per the decision of the Council of Ministers in the Health Department. He urged the superintendents of hospitals and district civil surgeons to select a new outsourcing agency within a month.

The outsourcing agency in question was chosen based on a tender published by the Jharkhand Medical and Health Infrastructure Development and Procurement Corporation Limited (JMHIDPCL). Although a new agency was picked, Saryu Roy accused that under the influence of the Health Minister, the department refrained from signing an agreement with the selected agency for a year, allowing the existing system to continue.

Roy claimed that the Health Minister, without informing the Council of Ministers, canceled the panel of the outsourcing company selected through the JMHIDPCL tender and issued an advertisement directing the appointment of a new agency. He argued that it was impossible to execute the tender within a month, given the impending election and the model code of conduct that had been put in place.

Saryu Roy alleged that the Health Minister was conspiring to maintain the current system, which had been in place since before the reform, and that this constituted a significant scam. He called on the Chief Minister to investigate the matter and prevent any irregularities.
