Dr. Ajoy Kumar meets Attorney General, state govt to protect Jamshedpur homes

Jamshedpur, July 31: Former MP and senior Congress leader Dr. Ajoy Kumar met Jharkhand’s Attorney General Rajiv Ranjan in Ranchi on Wednesday to discuss the National Green Tribunal (NGT) notice regarding the demolition of 150 houses located along the riverbank in Bhuinyadih, including Kalyan Nagar and Indranagar.

Dr. Kumar reported that there was an in-depth discussion about the NGT’s notice, and the Attorney General assured that not a single house would be allowed to be demolished. He mentioned that the state government would soon file an affidavit in the NGT to protect these homes.

Dr. Kumar emphasized the government’s sensitivity to this issue and stated that efforts were being made at every level to address it. Additionally, a petition had been filed in the Ranchi High Court by 150 Bhuinyadih residents challenging the NGT notice.

Addressing the Bhuinadih residents, Dr. Kumar reassured them not to be swayed by outside influences. He affirmed that as long as the India Alliance government was in power in Jharkhand, no house in Bhuinyadih would be demolished. He urged residents to remain steadfast and patient, promising that the government was prepared to fight at every level to protect their homes.
