Jamshedpur, Dec 6: Independent candidate from Jamshedpur East Saryu Roy locked horns with the officer in-charge of Sakchi PS Rajeev Kumar Singh after a police team raided Blues Bar and Restaurant in Sakchi on Thursday evening.

Accusing police of breaking the locks of the bar godown and confiscating several boxes of liquor in an illegal manner, Roy sat on dharna with his supporters outside the restro bar till 2 am. He ended the agitation after the SSP Anoop Birtharay assured to take action against the accused cop and return the seized liquor stock.

Roy slammed the Sakchi OC for conducting the raid without assigning any just reason for the action. When cops told him they had got a tip-off about someone selling liquor from book shop, Roy asked police whether they had arrested someone and informed the excise inspector about it. Roy also questioned the police action for not sealing the godown and preparing the seizure list. The OC reportedly told him that the seizure list was being prepared at the police station.
