Saryu Roy rakes up ownership right issue

Jamshedpur, Dec 1: Independent candidate from Jamshedpur East Assembly constituency Saryu Roy on Sunday raised the issue of ownership right for the residents of 86 slums of the city during election campaign at Agrico Transport ground. He said the residents of the 86 slums of the city should be given ownership right on the line of a similar decision taken by the Central government in New Delhi.

Roy was interacting with voters during a competition of morning walkers organized at the ground. He was present as the chief guest. He felicitated the winners.

Roy visited Shanti Valley, Kumharpara, Gandhi Ashram, Kanchan Nagar, East Plant Basti, Zone No 10 of Birsanagar, Garabasa and Sidhgora. He discussed local issues and assured to resolve them on winning the election. He said the slum residents should be made owners of their houses and instead of being driven out by the administration.

Hundreds of people were present during Roy�s campaign. They included Dilp Jha, Sandeep Samanta, Durga Ram, Prasad Rao, Amulya Karmakar, Rajesh Choudhary and Kanchan Singh.
