Jamshedpur, Jan 28: East Jamshedpur legislator Saryu Roy has raised serious concerns about the prolonged delay in providing separate electricity and water connections to houses in Cable Town, prompting him to issue an ultimatum to the Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum, Jamshedpur.
In a letter addressed to the Deputy Commissioner, Roy expressed dismay over the lack of progress despite instructions given during a meeting on October 30, 2023. He highlighted that while water connections were successfully provided by JUSCO in the area, TSUISL had only installed electricity connections at nine points, causing inconvenience for Cable Town residents.
Roy, in his communication, also pointed out the failure of both Jamshedpur NAC and TSUISL to address cleanliness issues in the locality, worsening the difficulties faced by inhabitants.
Frustrated with the lack of response, Roy recalled his written communication to the Deputy Commissioner on January 11, 2024, urging a meeting with TSUISL and the Insolvency RP to discuss the matter. However, no meeting has been convened despite the request.
In the letter, Roy asserted that TSUISL’s insistence on seeking no objection from the Insolvency RP is unwarranted, as permission was never obtained from the bankrupt cable company to supply electricity to the area. He accused TSUISL of providing electricity to certain houses without proper authorization and expressed concern about ongoing efforts to establish a direct electricity line to the Cable Club.
Issuing a stern ultimatum, Roy called on the Deputy Commissioner to instruct TSUISL within a week to ensure the immediate provision of electricity to houses in Cable Town and the implementation of cleanliness measures in the area. He warned of a planned protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office if no action is taken within the stipulated timeframe.
