Jamshedpur, Jan 15: Senior BJP leader and Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Roy has taken up the abduction of young entrepreneur Kairav Gandhi with the state’s top police leadership, expressing grave concern over the safety and security situation in the city.
In a post on social media platform X on Thursday, Roy said he had spoken to Jharkhand Director General of Police Tadasa Mishra and Jamshedpur Senior Superintendent of Police Piyush Pandey, urging swift and serious action in the case.
He described the incident not just as a crime of abduction, but as a direct threat to a young man’s life, demanding the highest level of urgency from the authorities.
Earlier, in a video message, Roy said the kidnapping from a busy locality was extremely disturbing and reflected poorly on Jharkhand’s law and order.
He warned that criminal networks could still be operating in and around Jamshedpur, possibly using local contacts to carry out such crimes for hefty ransom.
Roy also conveyed to the DGP and the SSP that the incident has shaken public confidence, especially among the city’s business community, who now feel increasingly vulnerable.
He stressed that the police must trace the abductors and rescue the victim at the earliest.
Failing that, he cautioned, people of Jamshedpur may be forced to take to the streets to pressure the government into acting decisively.
The kidnapping of Kairav Gandhi, son of a prominent local entrepreneur, has triggered widespread concern across the city, putting the spotlight firmly on Jharkhand’s policing and public safety framework.
