Saryu Roy doing dirty politics over demolition issue: Banna Gupta

Jamshedpur: Lambasting the BJP for creating panic among the residents of Shastrinagar in Kadma over proposed road widening project and demolition of houses, Jamshedpur West MLA Banna Gupta today said that with elections round the corner ex-MLA Saryu Roy was entering into dirty politics.

Reacting over the increased activities of BJP leaders in Shastrinagar, Gupta said, The senior BJP leader is behind all the conspiracy and has instilled fear among the people by marking the houses from where they would be bulldozed and in turn blaming the congress for the plot.

This is intended just to gain lead in the upcoming elections in the state. When Jusco is saying that they have not marked the houses, who else other than the BJP people can do it.

The road from KPS School, Kadma, to Hotel Alcor is 6.05 meter (18ft) wide and there are around 1450 houses located in the area while the BJP leaders are giving false statements in the media that 5000 houses will be demolished, said Gupta, adding, Seeing the development work in the area BJP is trying to play dirty politics and Saryu Rai is terrified as to how to take back the seat in which BJP had ruled for 20 years and had done nothing for the people of the area.

I had made several attempts to get the road repaired by JUSCO. But due to their lack of interest, I approached the Public Works Department, Jharkhand Government and appealed to them to revamp the existing road and fill it with black top which would cost Rs. 2,80,63,100. It is a long process as tenders will be floated and agreement will be signed. All this will take some more time, said the MLA.

Also present on the occasion East Singhbhum District Congress President Vijay Khan said Congress party was with the MLA and till they are around no houses will be demolished.
