Jamshedpur, May 31: Jamshedpur East MLA, Saryu Roy, has taken a bold step by forwarding a comprehensive charge sheet, accompanied by evidence, to the Director of the Enforcement Directorate (ED), levelling ten serious allegations against Jharkhand’s Health Minister, Banna Gupta. Roy has urged the ED to probe into Gupta’s alleged involvement in money laundering and accumulation of disproportionate assets.
The charge sheet highlights ten instances of purported corruption by the Health Minister, asserting that his actions have inflicted significant financial losses upon the state exchequer. Among the accusations listed, irregularities in the procurement of essential equipment for ambulances and hospitals, the unauthorized transfer of medical personnel including doctors and civil surgeons, and the reinstatement of consultants allegedly involved in collusion with hospitals covered under the Ayushman scheme, stand out prominently.
Speaking on the matter, Roy emphasized the potential revelation of substantial illicit funds and systemic irregularities within the health department, particularly concerning the Ayushman scheme, should the Enforcement Directorate undertake a thorough investigation into the allegations.
