Saryu inspects Chhath Ghats, distributes prayer essentials to 1,100 devotees

Jamshedpur, Nov 19: East Jamshedpur legislator Saryu Roy distributed 1,100 sups each containing fruits, essential vegetables and oil lamps among devotees performing Chhath Puja. The sups containing essentials were distributed at the Baridih VS office, Sidgora Surya Mandir and in other localities under the BJM units in the East Jamshedpur Assembly constituency.

Legislator Saryu Roy inspected the Chhath Ghat at Sidgora Surya Mandir and gave necessary directives to the managing committee and BJM members to ensure that devotees coming to the Ghat for Arghya did not encounter any problem. He then toured several other ghats including the ones at Telco TRF Colony, Citu Lake, ICWP Lake, and Makdam.  The legislator also inaugurated the newly constructed Ambagan Chhath Ghat at Telco that was constructed out of the legislator’s fund. While inspecting the Citu Lake Chhath Ghat the local people complained about several hindrances faced by Chhath devotees while performing prayers there. he assured the people that he would have another Ghat constructed in the vicinity to ameliorate all problems faced by Chhath devotees.

Those who accompanied Saryu Roy on the inspection and sup distribution tour included Chandragupt Singh, Ramnarayan Sharma, Ajay Sinha, Vandana Namta, Subodh Srivastav, Hareram Singh, Joginder Singh Jogi, Asim Pathak, Rajesh Jha, Ashok Kumar and Rajiv Chauhan.
