Jamshedpur: The first death anniversary of late M. Som Shekhar Rao, founder and chairman of Sarojini Memorial Trust, Jamshedpur, was observed with devotion and social service at the Club House on Q Road, Bistupur. The programme was organised under the banner of Sarojini Memorial Trust.
In the morning, family members offered floral tributes and performed rituals in memory of the departed soul. Around 1.30 pm, food was served to nearly 501 underprivileged persons, followed by distribution of clothes and financial assistance.
In the evening, a devotional bhajan–kirtan programme was presented by Krishnamurthy and his team, in which members of the Sarojini family were present. Later, about 101 saints were provided meals, blankets and monetary support. The tribute programme concluded at night after a community dinner attended by guests and family members.
The event witnessed the active participation of the present chairperson M. Venkata Lakshmi (wife), M. Venkat Karthik (son), I. Santosh (son-in-law), M. Madhuri (daughter), other relatives, staff members and the Sarojini family. On the occasion, all members resolved to fulfil the dreams of late Shekhar Rao and carry forward his vision of promoting technical development in Jharkhand.
