Jamshedpur: In the wake of a historic blow to the CPI (Maoist) hierarchy, senior officials from the CRPF and Jharkhand Police have convened in Chaibasa to finalize a major renewed anti-Naxal offensive in the Saranda region.
This strategic meeting follows the massive January operation that resulted in the neutralization of 17 insurgents, including the high-profile leader Patiram Majhi (alias Anal Da), who carried a ₹1 crore bounty. Aimed at consolidating these recent gains, the security top brass is now focusing on intelligence-led “flush-out” operations to dismantle the remaining insurgent infrastructure.
While intensifying ground coordination, officials also issued a stern ultimatum to remaining cadres: Abandon the path of violence and rejoin the mainstream or face total elimination in one of Jharkhand’s most challenging terrains.
The high-level engagement reflects the administration’s firm resolve to restore lasting peace and security in one of Jharkhand’s most challenging insurgency-affected zones. The operation in January also neutralized female cadres and top leaders of the naxal outfit. Security forces will continue their operations after the killings to flush out any remaining insurgents.
