According to information, heat wave condition is likely to continue in the Chottanagpur plateau region amid severe hot conditions prevailing in the nearby suburbs.
The heat wave alert, which was sounded on Monday, has been extended across the state for another 48- hours even as several places recorded the hottest day today.
The severe heat conditions are due to westerly to northwesterly winds which are prevailing at lower levels over the region.
Heat wave conditions would continue to prevail in parts of Chottanagpur region during the next two days,” said the officials.
The hot and scorching summer in the city has not only made life difficult but has also increased the woes of the people.
Several cases of serious diseases, such as dehydration, gastroenteritis, jaundice and viral fever are being reported in the city with nursing homes and hospitals witnessing spurt in admissions.
