Saraikela SDO urges for safe and sedate Durgotsav

Saraikela, Oct 7: With Durga Puja round the corner, Saraikela SDO Ram Krishna Kumar presided over a meeting with members of the Shanti Samiti at Chhau Kala Kendra in Saraikela on Wednesday. During the meet the representatives of all puja committees of participated.

SDO urged the Durga Puja committees to follow COVID norms during the festivity and laid down guidelines of the centre and state government. He said rituals should be performed following the COVID norms and puja should be done in presence of not more than seven members. No stall and eateries should be present near the Durga Puja pandal and cleanliness should be the top most priority during the festivity. Puja pandals should not be inaugurated and no prominent person should be called. Puja prasad should not be distributed among the devotees.

According to the guidelines issued by the Jharkhand government, Durga Puja may be performed in small pandals where it has been done traditionally only with the objective of performance of rituals without public participation for which the Puja pandals shall be covered on all sides in a way to prevent any public view of the idols. Moreover, these pandals would not be constructed on any themes.

SDPO Rakesh Ranjan said that no lighting or decorative work should be done and it�s the responsibility of all to have a safe Durga Puja. Those found flouting norms will be strictly dealt with. Present at the meet were BDO Mritunjay Kumar, CO Geetanjali Kumari, Inspector Paskal Toppo, Police Station incharge Naveen Pandey, Red Cross secretary Dr DD Chattrejee, Dr Bariyal Mardi, Tapan Patnayak, Jalesh Kavi, Bhola Mohanty, Shankar Satpati, Vishnudev and others.

It is worth mentioning that Jairam Youth Sporting Club, Adityapur in Saraikela-Kharsawan district hosts one the most decorated Puja pandals in entire Bihar and Jharkhand which attracts devotees from entire Jharkhand state along with Bihar and Bengal.
