Saraikela Police nab cybercrime accused, sent to jail

Seraikela : The Seraikela Police has got a major breakthrough in cybercrime control. The accused Saddam Shaikh, while probing the case under the leadership of Seraikela Circle Inspector Pascal Toppo, has been sent to jail while arresting Pindari above Tola under Sarath police station in Deoghar district. In this regard, a complaint was lodged by Jawan Umashankar Yadav, victim of CRPF 196 Battalion.

According to the case filed by the CRPF jawan, on August 6, 2019, Uma Shankar searched Google and called the customer care number to know the details of the account in his State Bank Seraikela branch. But the call could not be made. Shortly thereafter, a call came from Umashankar’s mobile from mobile number 6090 271 367. In which the number of OTP that came on his mobile was asked to be given bank details. With the disclosure of the OTP number, ? 40000 was withdrawn from Umashankar’s bank account. Circle Inspector Toppo, who is investigating the case, said that while investigating the case with the help of the technical branch, it was found that a total of five accounts had been blown by the accused Saddam. The Circle Inspector has appealed to the people to be vigilant about the said cybercrime. And on any such call, it is said not to share confidential information like OTP or CVV. He has said to contact the bank directly for any problem.
