Saraikela, Nov 19: Deputy Commissioner Iqbal Alam Ansari today held an important meeting with all district officials directing them to ensure safety during Chhath Puja rituals. He said that social distancing and wearing of masks were mandatory.
The Saraikela Nagar Panchayat has urged all Chhath devotees to abide by all safety protocols and announcement to the effect were being made over loudspeakers. SDO Ramkrishna Kumar informed that only ghats arranged by Chhath Puja Committee would be made available to devotees for rituals. Magistrates and police personnel have been deputed at all Chhat Ghats. All arrangements have also been made for safety of devotees and other people visiting the banks for Chhath rituals. IRCS district secretary DD Chatterjee informed that in danger zones along the river banks, adequate volunteers have been deputed and that banks where the water was too deep, had been kept out of bounds for Chhath devotees. Others present in the meeting included ADC Subodh Kumar, SDO Chandil Ranjit Lohra, LRDC Saroj Tirkey, all Circle Officers and other officials .
