Saraikela DC expresses displeasure at illegal sand mining, orders action

Saraikela, Sept 23: Deputy Commissioner Iqbal Alam Ansari chaired a meeting in the collectorate hall and took stock of mining activities in the district from the Mining Task Force. He directed action against illegal sand mining and crusher units running unauthorized business. The DC directed the District Mining Officer to take the assistance of the SDO and CO to conduct raids and prevent such illegal activities.

Iqbal Alam Ansari expressed irritation and rebuked the Mining Officer for the prevalence of illegal sand mining under Ichagarh police station area. He directed the official to conduct surprise raids along with the SDO, SDPO and other members.

The District Mining Officer informed in the meeting that currently three sand mining areas were in operation that were being conducted by eight mining lessees.  Deputy Commissioner Iqbal Alam Ansari ordered the Mining Task Force members to conduct surprise raids every month as a measure to prevent illegal mining and transportation and take spot action wherever irregularities were found. The District mining Officer urged that adequate police force be provided during raids.

Among those present in the meeting were DDC Pravin Gagrai, ADC Subodh Kumar, SDO Ramkrishna Kumar and DFO Aditya Ranjan.
