Ranchi: Potka MLA Sanjib Sardar brought the state’s stalled online land mutation process to the forefront of the Jharkhand Assembly during the Zero Hour on Saturday. He highlighted a severe technical blockade that has left thousands of citizens unable to complete essential property transactions for the past three months.
The MLA urged the government to intervene immediately to resolve software glitches and clear a massive backlog of pending applications.
Citizens Stranded by Software Errors
Sanjib Sardar informed the House that Pragya Kendras (Common Service Centers) and individual applicants have faced constant “software errors” since late 2025. He noted that the online portal currently prevents new entries if any previous transaction related to the same plot remains pending.
“Common citizens are suffering immensely,” the MLA stated. “For three months, the system has refused to accept mutation applications, bringing land-related legal and financial work to a complete standstill across the state.”
Demand for Transparent and Rapid Solutions
Highlighting the importance of a functional digital system, Sardar demanded that the government restore the online mutation process without further delay. He emphasized that while digital platforms aim to provide transparency, the current technical failures are achieving the opposite by creating a bottleneck.
The MLA’s primary demands to the state government include:
- Immediate repair and upgrade of the Jharbhoomi mutation software.
- Time-bound disposal of all applications pending for more than 90 days.
- Simplification of the “Double Entry” check that currently blocks valid new applications.
The government’s response to this technical crisis is highly anticipated, as land mutation is a critical step for property ownership, bank loans, and legal security in Jharkhand.
