Jamshedpur, April 11: Samadhan will celebrate its first anniversary on April 17 and will mark the week with philanthropic activities.
As part of the celebrations on April 14, the NGO will launch a free water distribution campaign. The NGO will float a helpline number through which people residing in dry areas like Parsudih, Mango and Bagbera can book their tankers after discussions with their neighbors or residential society in concern.
Addressing a press meet in Sakchi on Monday, Poonam Vig, president of Samadhan, said that the free water distribution campaign will kick start on April 14 and will continue till June. The idea is to help people and there are many areas that are parched during the summer. “Residents can call on the number a day before and we will send the water tanker.”
Samadhan will also take out an awareness rally against drug addiction and intoxication on April 18. The rally to be flagged off by the East Singhbhum civil surgeon, S. K. Jha will also raise voice against women empowerment and especially against domestic violence.
Dinesh Kumar, patron of Samadhan said that a series of events have been lined up. The rally on April 18 aims to make youngsters aware about ill effects of addiction.
On April 19, Samadhan will organize a dental check-up camp at Sarjamda while on April 20, the NGO will launch its Sakhi-Saheli sanitary napkin production for women empowerment. This program will take place at the Gandhi Ashram, Baradwari.
